Pretty excited about this one. Some friends of mine have brought me in to help them find an engineering manager (and a developer
) for their organization. Excellent engineers and nice people - I'd be happy the work with them myself. They are a strong tech company in the hospitality space, located in the South Bay. Pay and benefits are excellent.
This is a full engineering manager position, involving coaching/mentoring and delegation. However, you are expected to have relevant technical skills. I've spoken with multiple leads and managers and they still work in code and have deep, current knowledge of development. Your skills won't rust away here. The team you'll be managing requires full stack knowledge. Their front end is React based, the back end is Java (Spring, Hibernate, etc.) and SQL. If you have experience with microservices, that's a plus.
This is open to technical leads who are ready to move to the next step, and managers at other tech companies with similar attitudes toward engineering management (i.e., accent on engineering). This is a successful tech company with high traffic and a large user base.
If that sounds like you, please apply and we'll get the conversation started. I should add that I'm not really a recruiter, but a consulting CTO who does this for very select clients. If you've been doing Java in SoCal you've probably run into me (Philip) - I run the OCJUG, speak at every Code Camp, and am a fixture at tech meetups. Looking forward to chatting with you!
